KAHS San Antonio Reunion

The picture in front of the Alamo reminds me of the group picture in front of the Vatican in May 1955, on our Senior Class trip. Although these are not all the same people who were on that trip*, I can see in my mind that one so long ago as if it were not that long ago.

Some of the gang went on the Riverboat Dinner Cruise and some of us sat along the river listening to the Peruvian music. When the boat came into view, we stood and cheered our gang and watched them waving back, calling something we couldn't hear over the music and our own cheering. Later we learned that on that same dinner cruise was a gal who had also gone to K-town, she was a Raider, in one of the 60's classes.


#Our reunions are with 50's and early 60's slumni.

We were military brats in the '50's and '60's, going to an Ameican High School in Kaiserslautern, Germany. In 2000, we had the first of the '50's grads reunion in Nashville. We had so much fun, we decided to get together every two years in a different city. Next was New Orleans, then St. Louis, with an all school reunion in Germany squeezed in between and then Orlando. This year it was San Antonio.

I've been wanting to go to San Antonio for years. Back when I was in the Group Tour business in FL, I tried getting a group to go around Christmas time to enjoy the holiday delights of Riverwalk. I never got a group to go, so I was delighted when our K-Town* reunion was held there last week.
